August 2016 Blogger’s Corner

August 7, 2016

I haven’t update the corner in awhile. Summer has been awfully busy, as summers tend to be.top50000

Since the last update, the numbers have continued to improve as more and more physicians and others discover the blog. I was happy to announce breaking into the Top 100,000 in the USA last time around. Now, PhysicianOnFIRE.com is in the top 50,000 nationwide. Thank you, readers!

Traffic has increased steadily thanks to a number of guest posts, a growing social media presence, and perhaps some site improvements. I recently added a page that links to All Posts in reverse chronological order. For those who are new to the site, a comprehensive list of every post can be a great starting point to get up to speed.

On Sunday evening, we are wrapping up the site’s Best Week Ever, with about 10,400 pageviews and counting, or about 1500 per day. If you would have told me seven months ago that the blog I was about to start writing would see numbers like this by summertime, I would have called Shenanigans.

The Sunday Best has been a well received addition that started this spring. I have published 2 Christopher Guest posts from Mr. 1500 and the White Coat Investor, which have been quite fun. I’ve got 4 more in the queue, and will be inviting more bloggers to participate. If you would like to participate, please contact me.

I have partnered with a number of Sponsors who have been great to work with and get to know over the last few months. I hope to find a balance where the advertisements are visible and available to you without becoming so prominent that they distract from the posts and the messsage. I welcome any feedback.

In addition to advertising revenue, I have seen an increase in some of the affiliate program revenue, particularly Amazon. As always, I will be donating half of the site’s revenue.

I don’t post the actual revenue numbers on the site, but I do share them with e-mail subscribers. If you are interested in the dollars and cents, please sign up below.
