Running a business often means juggling many financial responsibilities. And one that gives me nightmares is managing expenses across multiple credit cards. Keeping track of due dates and interest rates, especially when finances get tight, isn’t a task for the faint-hearted.
A couple of years ago, my cash flow took an unexpected hit. And I was dealing with credit card debt across different cards. I used the debt avalanche method to clear everything up. But that isn’t the only way to deal with this mess.
You can opt to maximize a balance transfer business credit card instead. Using it the right way can save you thousands of dollars in interest and penalties!
And though there aren’t many of these cards out there, I’m sure you could use some help figuring out the perfect pick.
So, I’ve analyzed dozens of balance transfer business credit cards to pick the best 0% intro balance transfer offers and low balance transfer fees. Read on to learn how you can use balance transfers as a strategic tool to manage cash flow.

U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card (Best overall balance transfer card)
This “triple threat card” gives you the right balance between a long 0% APR period, a generous sign-up bonus, and solid cash back rewards, making it my pick for the best overall balance transfer card.
Your 0% intro APR offer applies to both balance transfers (made within the first 30 days after account opening) and purchases. Plus, it lasts for 15 months—an impressive benefit for a card with no annual fees.
Spend over $4,500 in the first 150 days of account opening and earn $500 in cash back. This offer falls short when compared to other no-annual-fee business cards like Chase’s card_name—offering a whopping $900 bonus cash back. Of course, the latter only gives you a 0% intro APR offer on purchases (not balance transfers).
The Triple Cash Rewards Card also gives you 3% cash back on eligible purchases at gas and EV charging stations, office supply stores, cellphone service providers, and restaurants. All other purchases fetch 1% cash back.

U.S. Bank Business Platinum Card (Best business credit card with 0 balance transfer for the longest period)
Offering U.S. Bank’s longest introductory APR offer on purchases and balance transfers, the Business Platinum Card should be on your radar. The 0% intro APR period lasts for 18 billing cycles on balance transfers.
Now, some personal credit cards give you longer intro APR periods, but this is one of the best offers I’ve seen on any business credit card.
But a US Bank business credit card balance transfer is all you’re getting from this card—there is no welcome bonus or an ongoing rewards rate.
I’d only recommend this card if you need some serious wiggle room to pay off business debt or immediately finance large purchases.

PNC Visa® Business Credit Card (Best for low APR after the introductory offer)
The PNC Visa Business Credit Card gives you a 0% APR offer on balance transfers for the first 13 billing cycles (for balances transferred in the first 90 days of account opening). Note that this card offers no intro APR for new purchases.
Post the balance transfer offer window, your variable APR can jump to anywhere between 15.24% to 25.24%. While this rate can vary with the market based on the prime Federal Reserve rate, the numbers are significantly lower than competing cards.
You won’t be paying an annual fee, but you also won’t get any additional rewards.
So, go for this card if you’re laser-focused on paying off business debt and don’t care for rewards or offers on new purchases.

State Farm Business Cash Rewards Visa Signature® Card (Best for businesses with State Farm Insurance)
This versatile business rewards credit card from State Farm and U.S. Bank offers a 0% introductory APR offer on purchases and balance transfers for 12 billing cycles.
This is a welcome sight but at its heart, this card is a tailored cash back solution only for businesses associated with State Farm.
Its rewards structure says it all—you get a 3% cash back incentive on insurance premium payments, capped at $4,000 annually. You also bag a 3% cash back benefit on bonus categories, such as:
- Gas stations
- Cell phone providers
- Office supply stores
- Dining (including takeout and food delivery services)
All other purchases will fetch you a modest 1% cash back reward.
Regardless, picking this card only makes sense if your business is already a State Farm client.

Mechanics Bank Business Card (Best 0% balance transfer business credit card with no annual fee)
Mechanics Bank is a member FDIC bank based in California. The issuer’s Business Card charges no annual fee while offering a solid 0% intro APR period of 18 months for balance transfers and purchases.
That’s a sweet deal—except you get no other rewards or benefits from this card.
If you’re keen on bagging rewards, consider Mechanic Bank’s Business Cash Preferred Card, which offers up to 3% cash back on eligible net business purchases. The catch is that the intro APR offer period is reduced to just six months.

Synovus Business Travel Rewards Visa® Credit Card (Best small business balance transfer credit card for travel)
A business credit card that offers both a balance transfer intro APR period and decent travel rewards is uncommon.
The unique Synovus Business Travel Rewards Card gives you just that—a 0% intro APR period of six months, and rewards of up to 5x points on travel expenses.
Here’s a detailed look at the rewards system:
- Earn 5x points on up to $5,000 annually for travel purchases, including hotel, airlines, car rental, and vacation packages.
- Get 3x points on up to $3,000 for purchases in a Dynamic Earn category of your choice.
- Earn 1x points on all other eligible purchases.
Your rewards never expire, and you can even transfer or gift rewards to other Synovus credit cardholders.
The card is almost perfect. Almost. Unfortunately, it comes with a $50 annual fee that’s waived in the first year. Many of the cards I’ve listed earlier come with no annual fee whatsoever—so this is disappointing.

Best Balance Transfer Cards for Solopreneurs
Conventional wisdom will advocate that you use separate credit cards for business and personal expenses.
This almost always holds good, but if you’re a sole proprietor, you have more options—like strategically leveraging your personal credit cards for balance transfers.
Here’s a curated list of the most favorable balance transfer options on personal cards:
1. card_name
The Reflect Card stands out for its exceptionally long 0% intro APR period—21 months on both purchases and balance transfers made within the first 120 days.
Post this, a variable APR that’s mostly in the range of 18.24% to 29.99% will apply.
If you’re considering getting a Wells Fargo credit card, you must have come across the highly rated card_name variant. While this card gives you an ongoing rewards rate of 2% on all purchases (a feature missing from the Reflect Card), the intro APR period only lasts for 15 months.
So, if getting out of debt or making large purchases is your goal, you’re probably better off with the Wells Fargo Reflect® Card.
But keep in mind that this card charges a 3% foreign transaction fee on international purchases, making it a poor choice for frequent travelers.
Apply for the Wells Fargo Reflect Card.

2. card_name
The Chase Freedom Unlimited® Card stands out as a versatile, all-purpose card with serious rewards potential.
You bag a sweet 0% intro APR offer for the first 15 months on both purchases and balance transfers. Post that, a variable APR kicks in, usually ranging from 20.49% to 29.24%.
The Chase business credit card balance transfer fee is $5 or 3% (whichever is more) for the first 60 days. After that initial period, the fee increases to $5 or 5% of the transfer amount.
But the intro APR offer is only a part of what this no-annual-fee card brings to the table. You bag 5% cash back on travel booked through Chase Ultimate Rewards®, 3% on dining and drugstore buys, and 1.5% on everything else. Plus, teaming it up with a top-shelf Chase card opens up more nifty redemption options.
There’s also a welcome bonus up for grabs—bonus_miles_full

3. card_name
The Citi Rewards+ card sets you up with a solid 0% intro APR for the first 15 months on purchases and balance transfers made within the initial 4 months. Once that intro phase wraps up, a variable APR that typically ranges from 18.74% to 28.74% takes over.
A heads up—there’s a 3% intro balance transfer fee (minimum $5) for the first 4 months, and then it switches to a 5% fee (minimum $5).
And here’s the welcome bonus: bonus_miles_full
To top things off, Citi Rewards+ also gives you access to the unique “round up” feature that bumps all your purchase points to the nearest 10 for some extra rewards. So, a $2 buy gets you 10 points instead of just 2 points, and a $43 splurge earns you 50 points.
Keep in mind that Citi’s point values vary and are not always straightforward.

4. card_name
Just like Citi’s Rewards+ Card, the Citi Custom Cash® Card gives you a 0% intro APR offer on purchases and balance transfers for the first 15 months, as long as you make the transfer within the first 4 months. Once the intro party winds down, you’ll end up with a variable APR that usually ranges from 19.24% to 29.24%.
Here’s where the card flexes its muscles—you rake in 5% cash back (in Citi ThankYou points) on up to $500 in combined purchases in your top eligible spending category every billing cycle.
You get to pick what this category will be from a list of eligible options that include:
- Gas stations
- Restaurants
- Grocery stores
- Select travel
- Select transit
- Streaming services
- Home improvement stores
- Fitness clubs
- Drugstores
- Live entertainment.
But once you hit the $500 cap, you get a modest 1% cash back.
So, this card’s biggest flex is also its biggest drawback. If you can score 5% cash back only until you hit the $500 mark, you’re making back $25 at most.
Apply for the Citi Custom Cash® Card.

FAQ
How to transfer personal debt to business?
You can easily transfer your personal debt to a business credit account, and the process is similar to transferring a balance between two personal credit cards.
Follow these steps to transfer personal debt to a business card:
Research available cards: Even if your credit score is excellent and you qualify for numerous business cards, it’s crucial to select one that aligns with your requirements. Explore various promotional offers, especially those with 0% introductory APR on balance transfers. Plus, look into each card’s balance transfer fees and policies. If the intention is to use the new card regularly for business expenses, familiarize yourself with the rewards and benefits offered.
Submit an application: Choose a card that complements your credit score. Keep in mind that transferring balances within the same issuer may not be allowed. While this isn’t an absolute rule, it’s a factor to consider during the application process.
Initiate the transfer: You can use two primary options for balance transfers—electronic transfers and transfers using convenience checks.
Using balance transfer checks to make the transfer is typically the easiest option. Your new business account will provide you with these checks. You’ll want to contact your personal credit account lender and ask for the payoff amount, covering all the fees and interest. Jot down that number on one of your transfer checks and shoot it over to your personal credit account creditor.
Await approval: The approval process for a balance transfer may take up to a couple of weeks. Regularly check your account status to stay informed about the progress.
Can you convert a personal credit card to a business card?
Yes, you can typically convert a personal credit card to a business card—but it really boils down to the card issuer. Keep in mind that shutting down a personal credit card will impact your credit score, so think it through if you’re considering closing the account after making the switch.
Another heads up—balance transfer business cards are few in number, so if you’re looking to carry out a transfer, your options will be limited.
